Dear students,
Today you will study about note taking (3.4), take an online AWL review test, and show me your second portfolio article, the deadline of which is next lesson (December 10th). If you are confident of your work, you don’t need to show me, but if you want me to check it, please ask. Also note that checking is not grading. On December 10th you should all show me a paper version of your second article and let me grade it by pen. After it has been graded, upload an identical version to the spreadsheet using the portfolio upload form.

Today is the final AWL practice test, AWL10. After the test you study about logical connectors (2.3 and 2.4), and then you will show me your first portfolio assignment. After it has been graded, you must also upload your homework to the spreadsheet via the portfolio upload form. The purpose of doing so is to check for copying of the original article, and also copying from each other.

AWL online tests
Dear students,
If you do not score 30 points in the test, try to take it again and again until you do. You should have an email receipt with your score after you submit the test. Use these receipts to edit your answers. Ultimately you should have nine homework emails all with maximum 30 point scores this semester. They will help you master the AWL words.

1) Today you will hand in paper copies of your portfolio. Ideally they should be in a folder or stapled together. (If you have had some or all of your portfolio graded already, you do not need to hand the already graded ones in).
For homework, everyone must upload the three summaries and opinions of your portfolio to the spreadsheet via the portfolio upload form (see blog June 4th). The deadline to upload your digital portfolio is Sunday July 22nd.
Students who fail to upload their assignments will score a maximum of 6 points (out of 9) for each missing assignment.
2) Then you will have an AWL gap fill test.
3) After that I will check your five intensive reading exercises in the textbook.
